Your mission
  • Quickly gain industry knowledge of wholesale and commodity trading (including FMCG, pharmacy, cosmetics/perfume) and apply it to day-to-day business development activities;
  • Assist in developing new business networks and accounts in Chinese-speaking market in south pacific region (e.g. Taiwan, Hongkong, Singapore etc.);
  • Source demanded products and develop regional trading networks under guidance;
  • Build up strong and reliable suppliers as well as clients portfolios in your trading market;
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as finance department and supply chain department, to ensure all the business cases/accounts are well set up, followed up and concluded;
  • Work toward becoming a business development associate in your trading market with extensive market knowledge, knowing precisely when to sell and buy to hit the targeted margin;
  • Cultivate new business relationships, and network with business associates in your trading market and around the world;
  • Perform well under deadline and with KPI’s;
  • Able and willing to take calculated risks to thrive for career success;
Your profile
  • Hold a bachelor or master degree in economics, business administration, supply chain management, international trade or a related field;
  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese is a must and professional proficiency in English (working language in the office) is required;
  • Minimum one year experience (relevant internship experience is included)  in a role of sales, purchase, trading, business development or similar; 
  • Self-promoting and always want to outperform your competition (even with yourself);
  • A good self-planner and skilled communicator to achieve strategic goals and targets;
  • Well equipped with interpersonal and analytical skills;
  • Strong negotiation skills and obsessed with numbers/figures;
  • A confident, proactive and curious people-person by nature;
  • Able to prioritize and multi-tasking;
  • Persistent and tenacious;

This is a full-time position located in our Rotterdam office. Immediate availability and working legibility in the Netherlands are preferred but not mandatory.
