Due to rapid business acceleration, we are looking for a Business Controller. In this position, you are not solely the expert when it comes financing, but you will also be supporting the management team with developing sustainable finance strategies to ensure cost budget adherence among all teams.

Your long-term goal is to support the business success, (such as increasing the profitability through the analysis of the financial flow, and optimizing the business process of B Futurist B.V. by cooperating with different internal and external stakeholders). In addition to cost control, you will also challenge the business managers to assist achieving their financial and non-financial annual targets. To be successful in this role, it is important that you quickly feel at home in a new environment and easily establish contacts with internal and external key stakeholders (such as external financial consultant, foreign currency agencies, Dutch banks, belastingdienst etc.).

This is a full-time position located in our Rotterdam office. Immediate availability is preferred but not mandatory. Hybrid working ​can be discussed.

Your mission
  • Implement a cash rotation management policy that results in an efficient cash to cash cycle;
  • Perform periodic cash flow analyses to identify discrepancies and outliers, which will be followed up by short/long term suggestions for improvement;
  • Perform detailed reviews to approve expense reports, bank reconciliations, and other documentations that are used to authorise financial transactions in order to guarantee that overpayment or underpayment will be mitigated;
  • Create a budget plan that identifies the company’s estimated available capital, anticipated expenditures and forecasted revenue on periodic basis;
  • Work with the HR department to formulate KPI’s to break down the operational cost on commercial;
  • Manage communication with external stakeholders to minimise the negative impact of currency exchange fluctuations on our business;
Your profile
  • You have a BSc/MSc degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Controlling, or any other related is preferred;
  • You have 3-4 years of experience as a financial/business controller in a NL-based mid-to-large scale company, where you have gained hands-on experience as a controller.
  • You have extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and in general market patterns;
  • You are accurate, detail-oriented and always back up your idea/proposal with strong rationale and logical thinking;
  • Strong execution capability, and able to prioritize and multi-tasking;
  • You have strong analytical and, problem solving skills, while possess an entrepreneurial mindset that makes you passionate in achieving goals and business targets.
  • You have excellent command of English language (office language), bilingual proficiency in Dutch is a plus;
  • You have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills that enables you to elaborate on financial proposals with different stakeholders;
  • You have solid understanding of Dutch financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Previous experience in handling with Dutch taxation bureau (belastingdienst).
